Course Goal / Objective
Special needs that can classify children with special needs who can be interested in working with children with special needs, who can see the task that they can assume in special education services, children with special needs and who can explain the basic concepts of special education and relationships among them, To evaluate the number of children at the country and region level, to explain the factors that differentiate the special education from the general education, to describe the functions of special education as an intervention and to evaluate the special education services in our country which can take special education services in our country.
Course Content
Basic concepts; The individuals who need special education; Language and speech impairment; physical Inability / persistence; Multiple inability; Feeling / behavior disorder; classification; Prevalence and frequency of occurrence; reasons; screening / diagnostic; team; Education-training environments; Scientific based practices; The family concept and the characteristics of families with children who need special education; Attitudes towards the child and his / her family in need of special education; Services, supports and legal rights offered to families.
