Course Goal / Objective

To describe the decompression concept, to define decompression rules, to develop the skills to use decompression tables, to introduce the principles of dive planning according to the depth and time of the dive, to describe the principles of preventing decompression sickness.

Decompression concept, air decompression, decompression tables and its rules, abbreviations of the decompression tables, dive planning, decompression table selection, no-decompres sion and decompression dives, repetitive dives, repetitive group designation, residual nitrogen, exceptional exposure dives, decompression schedule selection, dive recording

Course Learning Outcomes

LO01 1) define terms of diving and decompression and their phases,
LO02 2) explain the parts forming the decompression tables and the purpose of these tables.
LO03 3) select the appropriate decompression table to be used according to the nature of the dive to be performed.
LO04 4) will be able to plan to minimize the risks to decompression-free decompression diving,
LO05 5) Planning recurrent dives
LO06 6)according to place; the dive supervisor, the diver, the assistant, the stand-by diver and the recorder
LO07 7) determine exceptional exposure dives and perform essential procedures,

PLO10 - Use required modern technical material and equipment by taking additional training, renew him/her continuously, show that he/she is aware of long life learning requirement by following occupational and academic developments in the field.
PLO11 - Communicate with his/her colleagues and track data in his/her field by using a foreign language minimum in A2 general level of European Language portfolio.
PLO12 - Obtain ability to plan the process about a system (pressure room, diving system, diving plan, material and equipment selection and erection of them) which would meet requirements of his/her job.
