Course Goal / Objective
Students are acquainted with the knowledge of magma solidification, type of igneous rocks, determination of igneous rocks by using thin-section and hand specimen.
Course Content
Definition of petrography, rock cycle, structure of earth, Magma, origin and classification of magma, Crystallisation of magma, type of crystallization, crystallization phases and magma differentiation, emplacement of magma, solidification and emplacement types, Classification of igneous rocks.
