Course Goal / Objective

In this course the student will develop and refine the general engineering problem formulation, organization, solution, and solution optimization methodologies, stress and deformation analysis of deformable solid bodies and mathematical descriptions of systems.

Course Content

Introduction to stress concept. Stress types. Deformation and strain concept. Stress and strain solutions. Analytical and graphical approaches. Deformation of rocks. Energy and strength.
