Course Goal / Objective

To introduce the students to the mechanical properties of deformable solids and dimensioning of this type of objects by examining the interaction with each other.

Course Content

Moment of Inertia Pure Bending: straight and curved bending of rods. Combined Loading State: Shear Force and Bending Moment, stress analysis and design. Axial Force and Bending Moment, stress analysis and design. Torsion Bending Moment, stress analysis and design. Elastic Curve. Energy Methods: General principles.
