Course Goal / Objective

The objective of this course is to give basic knowledge to the student on the alternative plants having potantial to use as forage plant and their growing techniques.

Course Content

This course covers the follwing topics: concept of alternative forage crops, classification of alternatife forage plants, growing techniques of pigweed, forage beet, saltbush, forage kochia, mustard, small burnet, common dandelion, chicory, lacy phacelia, plantain, knotweed, bindweed, mallow, purlane and some forage shrubs
