Course Goal / Objective
Thermodynamics is a discipline related with energy. It examines the interactions between the heat-energy and work. For this reason, the aim of this lecture is to give some basic principles about thermodynamic laws, ideal gases and main thermodynamic processes in ideal gase, humit air and humit air processes (Psychrometry), compressors, gas power cycles, steam power cycles, refrigeration cycles subjects.
Course Content
Introduction (Thermodynamic system, thermodynamic process, heat and work, thermodynamic equilibrium), Properties of the ideal gases and equation of state for ideal gases, Real gases, Thermodynamic laws (The first and the second), Main thermodynamic processes in ideal gases, Water vapour and processes in water vapour, Psychrometry and basic psychrometric processes, Compressors, Gas power cycles, Vapour power cycles, Refrigeration cycles.
