Course Goal / Objective
Learn the concept of shear stress and strain, know stress strain relations, law of Hooke and types of stress,perform stress analysis, calculate stress on simple machine parts, know the concept of equivalent stress in unified stress state and applied theories and performs calculations
Course Content
Basic definitions. Normal and tangential stresses, relationship between stress and strain, Hooke law, deformation characteristics, elastic plastic deformation, voucher experiment and yield decline in tensile strength, modulus of elasticity and shear elastic-plastic deformation module, touch and drag stress, bending stress, shear stress and torsional shear stress, polar moment of strength and torque strength, calculation of the equivalent stress
