Course Goal / Objective

Gaining knowledge about sorting systems and recent technology, explaining sorting methods used in packing line, investigating the effects of mechanical properties of agricultural materials in the design of sorting systems.

Course Content

Sorting methods of agricultural materials, sorting machines and systems used in the post-harvest technology, recent sorting technology and using areas, fruit packaging and processing line, sorting systems and their specifications used in packaging line, theory of Elasticity and Hertz, and their usage to be design parameters of sorting systems, mechanical damage occurrence and reducing in packaging line, design of cushioning materials and determining the suitable line for cushioning materials.
