Course Goal / Objective
The purpose of the course is to teach the students about different kinds of prehistoric complex societies around the world.e is to take up the foundations of contemporary social and economic conditions (agriculture, occupation groups, styles of housing) in the framework of periods after the Palaeolithic (Mesolithic, Neolithic, Chalcolithic) generally around the world.
Course Content
The course first defines social complexity, and then looks at prehistoric examples of complex hunting-gathering societies, chiefdoms and early states.
