Course Goal / Objective

Introducing to the students the concept that we can find intrepretations of past human behaviors by observing human behaviors today and preparing the students for future studies about which they can evaluate error as well as truth

Course Content

The course will first explain applications of ethnographic and ethnological studies in archaeology, their theoretical and methodological foundations, and their contribution to the solution of archeological problems. The difference between ethnoarchaeology and ethnography, ethnology and, indirectly, anthropology will be clarified in the class, and the students will be taught archaeology's view points in examining and explaining ethnoarchaeological field work and its results.
