Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to teach the importance of chemistry for Textile Engineering, increase chemistry knowledge level and make use of scientific review.

Course Content

Chemical properties and measurement, atoms and atomic theory, electronic structure of atoms, periodic table and some atomic properties, chemical compounds, chemical reactions, reactions in aqueous solutions, liquids, solids, and intermolecular forces, solutions and physical properties, gases, thermochemistry, Spontaneous change: entropy and free energy, chemical kinetics, principles of chemical equilibrium, acids and bases, acid-base equilibria, electrochemistry, nuclear chemistry, complex ions and coordination compounds, basic concepts of organic chemistry, organic compounds and organic reactions, biochemistry
