Course Goal / Objective

This course aims to teach the chemical structures of natural and synthetic fibers, the fibers behavior against chemicals, fibers recognition reactions, chemical structure of textile assistant and their use.

Course Content

Dye and Introduction to Dyestuff Chemistry. Colour, Light and Colour Mixture. Classification of Dyestuffs. Azo Dyestuffs; Synthesis and Namings, Application Areas and Methods. Metal Complex, Reactive, Dispers And Solvent Dyestuffs, Nitro, and Nitrosol Dyestuffs, Polymetyne, Arylmetine. Azo Analogs, Azo Annulen, Carbony and sulphur dying substances. Investigation of dying substance in terms of textile ecology, cancerogenic substance in dye production and its general features, features and detection of cancerogenic amines in azo dye substances, commercial names for dye substances and their equivalents.
