Course Goal / Objective

Developing consciousness for protection of historic and cultural values. Giving information about theoretical and practical knowledge for preparing surveying and restoration projects. Discussing concept of conservation, the development of the concept and approaches for conservation. Preparation for surveying and restoration projects of a selected building.

Course Content

Introduction for the concept of conservation, historic development of the concept, legal framework and regulations for conservation in Turkey, protection of architectural heritage, restoration techniques, surveying techniques, surveying of an architectural heritage
