Course Goal / Objective
The main objective of the course is to teach the students general technical drawings and rules related with civil engineering, to help students gain technical drawing skills and enable them to understand the general concepts and general principles of engineering drawing methods, basic concepts of engineering drawing, technical drawing, geometrical drawing, sectional views, orthographic drawing, projections, perspectives, basic dimensions and detailing techniques.
Course Content
Terminology of technical drawing, types of technical drawings, drawing tools, standard line types and thicknesses, basic geometric drawings, types of perspective projections (isometric, dimetric, trimetric and oblique projections), dimensioning elements and rules, section views, details of a mechanical part with sections, freehand sketching techniques.
