Course Goal / Objective

This course aims to help students develop a basic knowledge of the nineteenth century Ottoman history and the first decade of the Turkish Republic. It also aims to introduce to students new perspectives in studying the selected topics.

Course Content

We pay due attention to theoretical discussions and examine the topics from a comparative and historiographical perspective.
