Course Goal / Objective

The course provides an critical approache to occurrence of journalism practice, and its institutionalization process as a vocation, in terms of socioeconomic conditions. Moreover, try to explains the production conditions of media contents, analyzes how newsp production in light of humanitarian conditions is provided. The course, together with a basic course of journalism, explains production process of medi.

Course Content

The course contains basic information of journalism. In the course, history of journalism and reporting, and news gathering and writting, are focused on. Also, issues of journalism/media sectors are investigated in the light of economy-politcs-cultural-sociologic terms, and the sources of actual issues are determined. In general, by enlightening development and transformation of journalism and related concepts of journalism, and actual circumstance, this course explains sociological function of journalism.
