Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is Apprehending the Tanzimat Philosophy as a Reform Movement, analysing the literary artists and their works of the period.

Course Content

The content of tis course is the social, political and cultural effects and innovations of the Tanzimat era, the importance of journalism in the Tanzimat period, poetry as a kind of literature, format and content, the poets of the Tanzimat period, the change and critical approach in Turkish poetry, poetry formats of the Tanzimat Period, the literary differences between Tanzimat period artists, the importance of translation activities of the period.
