Course Goal / Objective
To show the role of plant nutrients in crop production, product quality and environmental pollution. To know the soil and environmental factors affecting the nutrition of the plant
Course Content
Sources of plant nutrients, forms of plant nutrients found in the soil, transport of plant nutrients to the root zone and mechanisms of plant ingestion, identification of plant nutrient mobility, distribution and deficiency indications. The effect of plant nutrients on the physiological and morphological characteristics of the plant. Explanation of the roles of plant nutrients in plant yield, quality and resistance to diseases. Measures to be taken against mineral nutrition disorders and adaptation mechanisms that plants have developed against these mineral nutrition disorders
