Course Goal / Objective

To understand the behavior of the soil and plant nutrient utility.

Course Content

Identification of plant nutritional elements for plant nutrition and deficiency symptoms. The effect of plant nutrients on the physiological and morphological characteristics of the plant. Explanation of the roles of plant nutrients in plant yield, quality and resistance to diseases. Measures to be taken against mineral nutrition disorders and adaptation mechanisms that plants have developed against these mineral nutrition disorders. Classification of fertilizers. Properties of organic and inorganic resources used as fertilizer. Behavior of the elements constituting the contents of various fertilizers in the ground, explaining the useful forms of plants. Application methods and times of chemical fertilizers. Discussion of special fertilizers for soil and vegetation. Features, advantages and disadvantages of leaf fertilizers. Role of soil and plant analyzes in composting.
