Course Goal / Objective

Thermodynamics is a sciences that deals with energy. Aim of this science is to give some basic principles about thermodynamic laws, ideal gases and main thermodynamic processes in ideal gas, humid air and humitdair processes (Psychrometry), compressors, gas power cycles, steam power cycles, refrigeration cycles subjects.

Course Content

Introduction (Thermodynamic system, thermodynamic process, heat and work, thermodynamic equilibrium), Properties of the ideal gases and equation of state for ideal gases, Real gases, Thermodynamic laws (The first and the second), Main thermodynamic processes in ideal gases, Psychrometry and basic psychrometric processes, Compressors, Gas power cycles, Vapour power cycles, Refrigeration cycles.
