Course Goal / Objective

This course aims to expand students' understanding of the term 'human rights' in theory and practice.

Course Content

It will interrogate the complex relationship between media and human rights with a focus on the rights of children, the elderly and the disabled, and issues such as terrorism, immigration, discrimination, hate speech, genocide and the death penalty. The monitoring and reporting of human rights violations will also be discussed.
