Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course; To define students the basic concepts about topography, the characteristics of measuring instruments and use, learning area calculation method, learning the concepts of scale, learning calculation of polygons, height and tachymeter.

Course Content

Definitions, scale and Errors, types of land surveys, instruments, precision and accuracy, distance measurements: taping and electronic distance measurement, angles, bearings, azimuths, field operations with total stations, and theodolites, computations and adjustment of measurements, area calculations.
