Course Goal / Objective
Today, biochemistry has gained an interdisciplinary quality of science. Biochemistry allows chemists and biologists, as well as agriculture and planting workers, to understand the metabolic events that occur in living organisms. Within the scope of this course, necessary biochemical information will be given in order to understand the pathological events that develop in the plant cell.
Course Content
The aim of the course is to provide the students with the knowledge of chemical structures and the chemistry of biomolecules (proteins, carbohydrates, lipids and nucleic acids) and their constituent monomers (amino acids, sugars, fatty acids and nucleotides).
