Course Goal / Objective

Giving the knowledge of basic sailing ships of Commerce

Course Content

Definition and history of seamanship. Defining characteristics of the ship and sailing terminology Auxiliary structures utilized in shipping. Units of measure and conversions used in seamanship Ship types and the overall classification. Ropes, ropes and rope types of transactions sailor knots, beads and wire rope plant Structure and parts of ships, tanks, water-tight bulkheads, warehouses, bilge and ballast pipes ship maintenance, blasting and painting.
