Course Goal / Objective

The aims of this course are to help preservice teachers develop basic interpersonal communication skills (listening and talking) to work with children and their families, resolve causes of the conflicts in interpersonal communication (Sender, canal, receiver, etc.), and to understand the role of body language in communication and us body language effectively.

Course Content

Definition of concepts about interpersonal communication, properties of communication process, basic communication skills (listening and talking) with children and families in early childhood, the factors that hinders communication and conflict resolution in preschool classrooms and families, body language, communicating with children, communication skills related to society (biases, prejudices, shyness, public speaking, etc.)
