Course Goal / Objective

The purpose of this course is to help students conduct independent research in Soil Science and Plant Nutrition based on scientific principles, to complete research in a timely manner, and to present and publish findings in a convincing way.

Course Content

The thesis study involves research related to pre-specified topic and is directed by an academic advisor. The advisor supports the student in his or her research and provides guidance for conducting his or her research in an ethical manner.

PLO03 - Plans and implements a research that may present solutions to existing problems and/or makes judgments using available knowledge in order to analyze the development and change processes in which soils are in place and fulfill the requirements of sustainable agriculture principles by linking relevenat fields of science.
PLO04 - Has ability to prepare and implement projects in order to solve the problems encountered in ensuring that the plants can be fed regularly in a soil or soilless medium, by covering other disciplines, and rovides solutions by making a status determination.
PLO05 - Is able to prepare independent projects to solve problems related to his/her profession or to lead the team works if needed.
PLO06 - Recognizes the problems that may arise and unpredictable in the field of expertise and takes responsibility with new strategies to be developed for the solution.
PLO07 - Is able to critically evaluate the information related to the field and to carry out advanced studies independently.
PLO08 - Has skills to access information and for this purpose to do resource search and to use databases and other information sources.
PLO09 - Conveys the innovations in her/his field and her/his works systematically in written, oral, and visual in Turkish and in English (at a minimum level of B2) as well.
PLO10 - Examines social relations and the norms that direct these relations from a critical point of view and takes action to improve them.
PLO11 - Develops strategy, policy and implementation plans related to the field and evaluates the obtained results within the framework of quality processes.
