Course Goal / Objective

To provide students with the information to enable them to work together with the related disciplines on the conservation and improvement policies of natural and environmental resources and social benefits and costs of conservation and improvement activities with the instruments of these policies on the basis of environmental sustainability of economy

Course Content

Sustainable development theory, relation between environment-natural sources, and the economy. The importance of market and market efficiency in sustainable development. Valuation of environmental costs and benefits. Discounting and environment, risk and uncertainty. Green tax, environmental standards and the precautionary principle. Monetary evaluation of the environment, TCM, HPM and CVM
