Course Goal / Objective

To teach the sedimantation in the basins and its effects on tectonic movements which lead to sedimentation in the basins and relationship with tectonic and sedimantation.

Course Content

Inrtoduction, basic concepts, Controls and effects of tectonic and sedimentation during a basin formation. Tectonic controls on sedimentation during basin formation, Sedimentation and plate tectonic, Sedimentation on cratonic (continental) areas, Evolution of plate tectonics (Basal Model) Divergent Margins, Convergent Margins, Tectonic stils and sedimentation on Transform Margins, tectonic-subsidance and sea level changes events within the theory of Geosynclines and plate tectonics.
