Course Goal / Objective
An analytical study of the political texts is aimed in the course by taking into account the period that the thinkers lived and wrote. The main aim of the course is to explain how the political views of the past centuries have affected the politics of today.
Course Content
This course, which will be the continuation of the first one, will examine the period starding from the second half of the 16th century until the end of the 19th century. The course will focus on the new worldview, a consequence of the Scientific Revolution, and its impact on the political philosophy. The emergence of the modern state, American democracy and constitutional monarchies are among the topics to be examined.
