Course Goal / Objective

To understand the basic properties and importance of molecular genetics and molecular biology and and gain the ability to discuss their interest in forensic sciences

Course Content

Biological evidence, Laboratory anti-contamination procedures. Nuclear and mitochondrial DNA. DNA isolation, PCR, STR, SNP, sequencing, electrophoresis. Interpretation and reporting of DNA results.
