Course Goal / Objective

To teach students current molecular techniques used in the diagnosis of viral infections and to provide skills in interpreting results and applying them in clinical laboratory practice.

Course Content

Molecular methods used in the diagnosis of viral infections, including nucleic acid amplification techniques (PCR, RT-PCR), real-time PCR, sequencing methods, genotyping, and rapid molecular tests are covered. Processing of clinical samples, interpretation of results, and introduction to laboratory applications are also included.

Course Precondition

Basic knowledge of Microbiology and Virology is recommended.
