Course Goal / Objective

Biophysics tries to formulate physical problems and solve problems related to living organisms with the laws of physics. Living organisms; open, self-regulating, producing, growing and growing, heterogeneous structured and multistage mixed systems. From small molecules to large biopolymers, cell organelles, cells, tissues and organs, organisms, societies, and the biosphere, we come across all stages of life. The aim of the course is to teach the importance of biophysics in the biomechanical and bioelectrical properties of cells and tissues. to explain mathematical methods and models.

Course Content

Molecular Structure of Living Systems, Molecules of Life (Proteins, Carbohydrates and Oils), Biophysical Evaluation of Molecules, Cell Membranes; structure and function relationship, transport and transport of cell membranes (simple diffusion, active transport, etc.), transport and transport channels and pumps (Ion Channels, Voltage Dependent Channels, ATPase Pump, etc.), Bioenergetics (Free Energy and Energy Transfer in Creatures), Thermodynamics (Entropy, Enthalpy, etc.), ATP and Chemical Energy Transmission, Mechanics, Kinetic and Heat Energy Transmission, Cell Stable and Unstable State, Nernst Balance Potential, Gibbs-Donnan Rule, Relaxation Dice and Action Potential will be discussed.

Course Learning Outcomes

Order Course Learning Outcomes
LO01 Learns the physical methods and concepts used in the elucidation of biophysics, biological processes and the solution of biological problems.
LO02 Knows the molecular structure of living systems (Proteins, Carbohydrates and Oils) and evaluation of these molecules as biophysical.
LO03 Cell membranes; know the electrical events in the structure and function relationship and the importance of these electrical events.
LO04 Learns the biophysical clutches in the cell membranes and transports (Simple Diffusion, Active Transport, etc.), the physical laws and their applications (Ion Channels, Voltage Dependent Channels, ATPase Pump, etc.) which are applicable to the channels and pumps that play a role in the transport and transport.
LO05 Learns the biophysical mechanisms (thermodynamics, entropy, enthalpy, etc.) that play a role in the energy lost and transferred to the living organism from the bioenergetic point of view (Free Energy and Energy Transfer in Creatures).
LO06 ATP and Chemical Energy Transmission, Mechanical, Kinetic and Heat Energy Transmission), the cell's Stable and Unstable state of the negative events that affect how the living organism knows.
LO07 Nernst Balance Potential and the Gibbs-Donnan Rule, which is present in the stable and unstable state of the cell membrane, learns the resting membrane and the Action Potential that plays a role in the rest and active state of the cell and comprehends the place and importance in the living organism.
