Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this lecture is explain the basic and current knowledge about the importance of haploid plants in plant breeding and haploid plant obtention techniques.

Description of haploidy, the importance of haploidy in plant breeding, techniques of haploid plant obtention, anther culture, microspore culture, gynogenesis, obtention of haploid plants in horticultural crops, obtention of haploid plants in field crops
