Course Goal / Objective

To learn the basic mechanisms in protein biochemistry, protein determinations and protein level measurement methods

Course Content

Protein synthesis, transcription, translation, proteomics, catabolic processes related to proteins, classification of amino acids according to degradation products, metabolism of non-protein nitrogen compounds, formation processes of nitrogenous compounds such as ammonia, creatine, urea and nucleotides, biochemical processes related to function and excretion of metabolic pathways principles, electrophoretic separation methods, molecular weight determination methods, purification by chromatographic techniques, measurement of specific proteins
