Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to provide principles on thermal energy storage for exploitation of renewable energy resources.

Course Content

Introduction to thermal energy stroge (general trends of energy use, importance of energy conservation), Basic topics on heat transfer (heat conduction, heat convection, radiation), Heat pumps (general, refrigerants, heat carrier), Solar Energy (solar radiation, photo-chemical conversion of solar energy, solar collectors), Natural heat (Groundwater heat, earth heat, geothermal energy, surface water heat).
