Course Goal / Objective
To gain basic knowledge and skills about coordinate systems, datum, projections and transformations used in remote sensing and GIS
Course Content
Reference surfaces (Ellipsoid, Geoid, Geoid undulation), Datum Concept (Local Datum, Global Datum), Geographic Coordinate Systems, Cartesian Coordinate Systems, Conversion Between Geographical and Cartesian Coordinates, Map Projection, Conversion of Map Projection, Geodetic Transformations, Earth Surfaces, Datum Transformation, Geodetic networks in Turkey.
