Course Goal / Objective

To emphasize potential use areas and methods of algae that are important in biotechnology, to be able to introduce the products obtained.

Course Content

For centuries, algae have traditionally used industrial fertilizers, nutrients and so on. The rapid increase of the world population, while the decrease of natural resources, increases ecological problems. At this point, algae come to mind when thinking how to use it differently than natural sources. In this context; - The use of algae in the future and in new fields (biofuels, foods, biotech / pharmaceuticals, new enzymes, specific chemicals, environmentally friendly fertilizers and pesticides, bio-production etc.) - Traditional use of algae from the day to day - General ways of benefiting from algae today - Biotechnological use and importance of algae issues will be covered in detail.
