Course Goal / Objective
The main objective of this course, starting from education in the Turkish Hun State, Gokturk, Uighur, Karahans, Gazneliler, to education in the Seljuks and the Ottomans, interpret and understand educational practices in the course of history, innovations and practices carried out in the field of education in the Republic of Turkey be able to explain in terms of Turkish Educational and Cultural History.
Course Content
The importance of the history of Turkish education in terms of education. Education before the Republic and teacher training institutions. The Turkish Educational Revolution 1-The historical background, the philosophical, intellectual and political foundations of the revolution. Turkish Education Revolution 2-Tevhid-i Tedrisat Hukuk-Historical foundations, scope, application and importance; Secularization in the Turkish education system. Turkish Education Revolution 3-Mixed education and girls' education, Writing Revolution, national schools, public houses. The basic principles of the Republic of Turkey and the education system. Village Institutes, Educational Institutes and Higher Teacher Schools. Universities and teacher training. Developments in recent Turkish education.
