Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to the teach methods for identifying genes and gene expression in plants.

Course Content

The contents of this course include structure of nucleic acids, protein translation and proteins, mechanism of transcription in plants and protein translation, gene-protein (enzyme), gene-RNA conversions, promotors and determination of promotors by PCR and sequencing techniques in plants, gene banks for promoters, RT PCR analysis to determine the presence of mRNA, determination of the amount of gene expression by qRT-PCR analysis and evaluation of results, determination of gene expression by micro-array chips, and the creation of micro-array chips, bioinformatics.
