Course Goal / Objective
The purpose is understanding soil formation processes and classifying soils according to world wide used soil classification systems. Soil determined in the laboratory and important physical and chemical properties in terms of classification,understanding soil forming factors,Pedogenic soil forming processes and Identifying Soil Taxonomic class according to Soil Classification System.
Course Content
Important morphological, physical and chemical properties of soil, profile description in field, weathering processes, soil forming factors, pedological soil forming processes, basic principles of soil classification, 1938 USDA Soil Classification System, Soil Taxonomy, FAO/UNESCO World Soil Legend.
