Course Goal / Objective

Researches in soil-plant-root morphology relations; Uptake mechanisms of plant nutrients by plants, their relations with mycorrhizae and importance of mycorrhizae and N-fixing microorganisms in this system; Mobilization of plant nutrients closely related with chemical and physical characteristics and role of soil structure development and fertility in this aspect; Effect of water content in soil on biological and chemical activities.

Course Content

Factors affecting the formation of plant root, microbial dynamics in rhizosphere. Rhizosphere physical, chemical and biological properties and their effects on plant nutrient uptake, the factors that causing in rhizosphere pH change and their effects on nutrient availability. Plant root systems and mychorriza effect on the root zone pests and diseases control and the necessary measures should be taken.
