Course Goal / Objective

To introduce the student with basic of computer networking and protocols

Course Content

Computer networks and the Internet, What is Internet, packet switching and circuit switching, delay and loss, protocol layers, application layer, HTTP, FTP, SMTP, MIME, IMAP, DNS, transport layer, multiplexing and demultiplexing, UDP, principles of reliable data transfer, TCP, TCP segment format, TCP congestion control, TCP flow control, Wireshark applications
