Course Goal / Objective

Preparing recipes with different raw materials for industrial or artistic products on the triangular diagram.

Course Content

Technological measure of material selection in product design. Raw material concept and other materials that may be alternative raw materials. Traditionial ceramics, applications and usage areas. Tablewares. Defnition and properties of tableware, methods of preparation and firing

LO02 Will be able to identify the properties of ceramic raw materials.
LO03 Students will be able to construct new compositions with local raw materials and waste materials as an alternative to ceramic raw material resources.
LO04 Will be able to distinguish the compositions used in the preparation process of the new clay body.
LO05 Will be able to recognize to prepare slip and to explain its rheological properties.
LO06 Students will be able to design new mud with different raw materials and design ceramic products.
LO07 When they shaping to design new slip/mud,they will be able to define the problems they encounter .
LO08 Will be able to describe the process of drying and will be able to observe drying defects.
LO09 Students will be able to define firing process and errors that may occur during the firing process.
