Course Learning Outcomes
| Order | Course Learning Outcomes |
|---|---|
| LO01 | Student will be able to realize the characteristics of the essence and non-essence oxides and coloring oxides. |
| LO02 | Student will be able to define the effects that the raw materials will make on ceramic slip and stains. |
| LO03 | Student will be able to compose various kinds of ceramic slips and paints |
| LO04 | Student will be able to compose various kinds of ceramic slips and paints |
| LO05 | Prepares formulas that can develop lining and paint prescriptions in different compositions |
| LO06 | It discusses these formulas and tries to improve them. |
| LO07 | Investigate which sludge is suitable for the kinds of primers it develops |
| LO08 | prepare the plates that slips and paints are going to be applied on |
| LO09 | The lining and dyestuffs you have investigated can be applied to ceramic surfaces. |
| LO10 | Test plates are prepared to apply the primer and paint. |
| LO11 | They prepare appropriate linings and do artistic work for it. This work creates the appropriate surfaces for the primer and dyes. |
| LO12 | It makes various samples from the lining and dyes that can be used in the work and brings it to the baking stage as an experiment. |
| LO13 | Apply appropriate primers and dyes to artistic works |
| LO14 | The lining, the paint and the glaze that will make the latest work |
| LO15 | report the study that she/ he has done |

Week Plan
| Week | Topic | Preparation | Methods |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | What is Slip. How is it prepared. What are raw materials for slip. | It comes by looking at the ceramic products with the lining and doing the research about the slip | |
| 2 | What are raw and non-solids raw materials to prepare slip raw materials | Investigate what are core and non-core stocks and what regions they come from | |
| 3 | What are the other raw materials used in slip. What are the features. Why use it. | Researches what other raw materials are, comes to learn the properties. | |
| 4 | How to prepare the slip composition. | The slip composition comes from researching examples. Works on sliped samples. | |
| 5 | Classification and properties of Slip. Preparation of test plates to be applied with slip. | Classification of primers and properties of slip | |
| 6 | Preparing prescriptions for selected slip types | Various slip comes by preparing prescriptions. | |
| 7 | Raw materials suitable for slip prescriptions are weighed, mixed and come into application phase | Raw materials for slip prescriptions come from working. | |
| 8 | Mid-Term Exam | Astar hammaddeleri özellikleri, reçete hazırlanması, örnek astarlar, 7 haftalık konulara çalışarak sınava hazırlıklı gelir. | |
| 9 | Tests applied to ceramic lining. | Investigates quality control on ceramic slip | |
| 10 | Slip errors and their correction | Investigate the examples of errors seen in slip | |
| 11 | Firing the prepared slips in different firing atmosphere. | nvestigates the different furnace atmospheres, learns the types of furnace | |
| 12 | Preparation of ceramic surfaces to be applied with slip. | Perform surface research for Slip | |
| 13 | Increasing the positive slip precriptions and appling them on the three - dimensional ceramic surfaces. | Discuss positive prescriptions and prepare for application if there are no mistakes | |
| 14 | The slip application is continued. | Compare application examples | |
| 15 | Making out the accounts of slip prescription and preparing reports. | Slip investigates the appropriate firing atmosphere | |
| 16 | Term Exams | Prepared for both theoretical and practical work | |
