Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to teach students the written texts of Uighur period of Old Turkic, phonetics, morphology, vocabulary etc. to comprehend the aspects.

Course Content

In this course, the Uighurs (reigning period, geography, political and administrative structure, belief systems), the alphabets used by Uighurs, the evaluation of Uighur language in terms of language features, the general view of Uighur literature and the introduction of Buddhist Uighur texts, the discovery of Uighur texts and the study of Uighur, on Buddhist Uighur texts in terms of sound and structural knowledge (Altun Yaruk, Good and Bad Prince Story, Buddhist Uighur poetry and non-religious products) are described.
