Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is the general characteristics of Old Turkish Literature at second half of 18th century and 19th century; the life of Divan poets of these centuries; their literary personelities and information about their written works, reading, testing and explaining the sample written works that are written with old letters.

Course Content

The content of this course is lives, literary personalities and sample poems of Osmanzade Taib, Seyyid Vehbi and Kami. Lives, literary personalities and sample poems of Arpaeminizade Sami, İzzet Ali Paşa and Nahifi, İsmail Beliğ, Haşmet, Fıtnat, Neşet, Sünbülzade Vehbi, Kani, Koca Ragıp Paşa and Enderunlu Fazıl. Life, literary personality, works, sample poems of Şeyh Galip and The mesnevi of Şeyh Galip called Hüsn ü Aşk. Mesnevies and prose literature in 18th century. General characteristics of the Turkish literature in the 19th century.Lifes, literary personalities and sample poems of Leskofçalı Galip, Enderunlu Vasıf, Keçecizade İzzet Molla and Ayni, Osman Şems, Yenişehirli Avni, Şeyhülislam Arif Hikmet.
