Course Goal / Objective

This lecture aims to give the students the basic knowledge sufficient for plant production on behaviors of plant nutrients in soils, uptake and transport of them in plants, metabolisms and functions of absorbed plant nutrients, and management and improvement of plant nutrients

Course Content

In this lecture, basic information on following topics is given: (i) pursuits, targets, history anda basic concepts of plant nutrition, (ii) roots, cell-wall, apoplast, (iii) uptake and radial movement of plant nutrients, (iv) xylem and phloem transports of plant nutrients, (v) photosynthesis and assimilate production, (vi) plant hormones, (vii) metabolisms and functions of plant nutrients, (viii) yield-laws and fertilizer requirement, and (ix) organic ve mineral fertilizers and application methods

LO04 Have necessary information for effective management and improvement plant nutrients uptake using activities such as fertilization, irrigation, organisms, biotechnology, breeding etc
