Course Goal / Objective

To teach and encourage the use of interior restoration of the historical milieus.

Course Content

Development of the idea of protection: Romantic vision, Historic Restoration, Contemporary restoration, protection of our heritage and assessment criteria: movable cultural heritage, immovable cultural and natural heritage, the protection measures; factors which cause deterioration on monuments: internal factors, external factors, restoration techniques in internal architecture: Application examples, work to be done before restoration: Historic and archaeological studies, art history research, technical research; restoration project preparation: Survey studies, Photographic documentation, analysis studies, Restitution, Restoration project; preparing the restoration project: a variety of applications.

LO04 Explains the factors and approaches that affect the selection of the function in refunctionalizing the structures which need to be protected.
LO05 Evaluates the intervention process and approaches of refunctionalized historical structures in our country and around the world.
