Course Goal / Objective

Introducing the basic properties of matter

Course Content

Why understanding of matter is important, Review of basic theoretical bacground, the classical and quantum mechanical approaches, thermodynamic and statistical mechanical approaches, the ideal gas model, derivation of ideal gas equation, calculation of micro quantities, heat capacity, electrical, optical and magnetic properties.
